520 |a A documentary about three women runners from different generations. Doris Brown Heritage is a runner who began her career in the late fifties, making two Olympic teams and winning the world cross country championships five times. Her story is a journey that follows women's distance running into the final acceptance of longer events for women runners in the Olympics. Charlotte Lettis Richardson ran during the tumultuous early seventies when women were demanding change in every aspect of their lives. Through her story we see the battles fought and the victories won. Camille Connelly is a young high school runner whose cross country season is followed, culminating in the Washington State Cross Country Championships. Through her running experiences we see the contrast and the glorious transformation of what it is like to be a young women runner today. By weaving and contrasting these three women's stories we see history unfolding and we get a sense of what it is to be a competitive women athlete.
