Summary: | Dubai is on the verge of entering the new millennium but is faced with a serious problem. The oil is running dry and the emirate needs an urgent solution. The ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has a brainwave to turn Dubai into the world's number-one tourist destination, and the idea for the iconic Burj Al-Arab hotel is born. It's an audacious dream. The project team will have to build the first reclaimed island in the Middle East and construct the world's tallest atrium, a helipad 650 feet in the air and a cantilever restaurant. It will push the team to their limits but, if they succeed, they will put Dubai on the map and secure its future for the 21st Century. |
