Detail
Summary:Jean Vigo made only four films. A Propos de Nice (1930) is a silent satire of the bourgeoisie influenced by Dzigo Vertov's Man with a Movie Camera. Taris (1931) is the documentary study of a swimmer, an assignment which Vigo handled with little respect for convention. The anarchic, influential Zero de Conduite (1933) is a vivid, unsentimental view of childhood. His only feature, L'Atalante (1934), is a tender, dreamlike love story played against the harshness of working class life on the Seine.
